TASK 1 MATARIKI SUMMARY

Video: Matariki ENGLISH

It's about the story of

Matariki and it began with 2

people who has 7 seven girls that

are called the Seven sisters,

because in Matariki the seven

sisters are actually stars that

were zig zagging around each

star, and most stars were getting

annoyed of them zig zagging

around so the mother and father

gave them a job that they were

going to be a sign of a maori New

Year that happens in late May to

Early June. The 7 seven sisters

accept and are now a sign of the

Maori New Year.

Video #2: Matariki

Have you ever seen 7

stars in one group? If

you have that group is called

Matariki, A Maori New year.

If you see the 7 stars brightly

it will be good luck and if you

don't see it, it's ok because you

can see it on other nights  if you

don't see it on one night.
